What is the best LED panel
LED light and the sources that produce it have a number of advantages over their competitors. LED lighting technology is more economical, safer and more durable in operation. As a result, it quickly extrudes predecessors from the market. In most modern countries, the production of conventional incandescent lamps has been completely discontinued. The same fate will soon await energy-saving light devices.
Structural solutions – LED lamps, illuminators and strips
There are three most popular types of designs using LED radiation.
- Lamps. Visually, they differ little from the usual light bulbs. All of them are supplied with plinths of similar dimensions, so it’s easy to use them in universal lamps, sconces and chandeliers. They provide brighter light, are insensitive to voltage drops, and do not attract insects. The power consumption ratio is 1 watt LED-lamp = 10 watts of a usual one.
- Illuminators. The range is very wide and designed for a variety of purposes - from camping lanterns and "night lights" in the bedrooms to powerful streetlights. They always come with built-in adapters. Due to the possibility of mounting on a single board, a significant number of elements are capable of delivering brightness up to several thousand lumens.
- Strips. Visually they are very attractive and economical at the same time. One strip can combine diodes of different colors. It’s versatile, easy to stick with the help of adhesive tape on any surface. Length and shape are not limited. The strip is powered only by direct voltage 12/24 volts.
It’s hard to choose which of the options is better. The choice depends on the specific situation, the place of use and the preferences of the user.
Thermodynamic parameters of LED lighting
The light’s hue of the perception, that we see depends on its temperature. It is customary to distinguish three variants of "white" light.
- Cold. Over 5000K is perceived as bluish. It is used to illuminate design objects and interior elements. The main scope of application is industrial premises, offices, and exhibition halls.
- Neutral. From 3000 to 5000K. It’s ideal for domestic use - lighting reception areas, kitchen work areas and offices, as well as in the Australian outdoor garden. Does not distort the perception of objects, is perceived comfortably.
- Warm. Less than 3000K. This one belongs to the "yellow" part of the spectrum. It is the calmest one, so it occurs especially often in children's rooms and bedrooms as bedside and wall lamps.
Colorful lightning
Another variety of LED-light emitting diodes. It is mainly used for explosive installation - SMD (Surface Mount Device). Unlike single color modifications 3528, diodes of the 5050 type with three emitting sources are used here.
Such diodes are typically used in show business, entertainment facilities and on holidays to create a positive atmosphere.
Which LED lamps are more reliable - protection degrees
In terms of reliability, LEDs are divided into two categories - protection against moisture and dust.
The degree of IP protection is indicated in a two-digit numeric marking. The first digit (from 0 to 6 as reliability increases) is the dust protection index.
Level sized |

No protection |
IP1X |
> 50 mm |
Large body surfaces (palm, elbow), no protection against deliberate contact with a body part |
IP2X |

IP3X |
> 2.5 mm |
Tools, thick wires, etc. |
IP4X |
> 1 mm |
Most wires, slender screws, large ants etc. |
IP5X |
Dust protected |
Ingress of dust is not entirely prevented, but it must not enter in sufficient quantity to interfere with the satisfactory operation of the equipment. |
IP6X |
Dustproof |
Absolute protection against dust |
The second (from 0 to 8) is the liquid protection index.

For various installation locations, the following LED safety levels are the minimum acceptable:
- ordinary premises - IP20;
- bathrooms - IP44 and above;
- streetlights, swimming pools - IP65 and above.
